Email marketing is amazing, duh.
But it has many benefits that not a lot of people talk about.
Well, I’m going to talk about one today!
Top of Mind Effect
The single highest ROI from email is the Top of Mind Effect.
Essentially this is just the name for when someone things of a particular topic or industry, YOUR brand is then first that comes to mind.
This is effective in a few scenarios.
For one, say their friend is looking for your product and asks a customer of yours what they’d recommend… if you are Top of Mind with the customer then you just got another customer with 0 acquisition cost.
Two, say your customer is going about their day and has a random need for your product… you get the sale over competitors if you’re top of mind.
Example you sell protein powder and a customer who bought 12 months ago is getting back in the gym… if you are top of mind they’ll go back to you.
And the only way to stay top of mind cheaply is with email.
It Doesn’t Even Matter if They Open Your Email 🤷♂️
If you’re sending 3-4 email campaigns a week, you may not get every single customer to open every single one of your emails.
HOWEVER, they will see your name in their inbox and get a subtle reminder that you exist.
Subconsciously you are still holding mental real estate in their head and solidifying your brand.
More exposure = higher likelihood for Top of Mind Effect.
The Only Non-Linear Ecom Growth Method
Paid ads are linear, you pay $50 you get $100 back, you put in $100 you get $200 back, etc.
The only way to compound growth is via word of mouth with customers.
You make a sale to someone, they tell 2 friends about you, those 2 friends tell 2 of their friends, etc etc
Achieving this kind of growth USED to be possible if your product was really good.
However, today it’s different.
There are thousands of brands in your niche, and the customer likes to shop around and try new things.
Even if your product is damn good, the customer is seeing all these other young and trendy brands on Tik Tok that are crushing it with marketing.
You can’t blame them for at least getting curious…
You must be maintaining loyalty with the customer by being in their inbox and providing value to them.
We want to develop a feeling within them where if they try someone else it feels like they’re cheating on us…
Email is how you make this happen.

Love what they did here with the top bar of the email.
This is a great feature that not a lot of people do, including myself.
If you have a sale, you can insert a section like the example above to promote the sale without wasting too much space in the email content.
