Today we’re talking about the most important email in your Klaviyo account.

If you don’t have this nailed, you aren’t going to make it.

Let’s ride…

Welcome Email #1

This is the FIRST email your new prospect will see when they become affiliated with your brand.

First impressions are so important, and if you screw it up it can be very difficult to recover.

If you want to be a respected brand that people trust and respect, you need to have a professional-looking welcome email to back it up!

If you have an outdated email in place, you look spammy and more likely to scam the customer which will harm conversions.

Email Content

Let’s really think about why the customer signed up for your email list…

9 times out of 10 it is purely to get the discount you probably offer on first purchases.

So… give them what they want!

We want to make the discount code and offer as clear as possible and right in the customer’s face with absolutely 0 friction.

For this reason, I like to put the offer and call to action as the first section of the email with a big button so the customer can just get their discount and leave.

Then you want to make sure you’re showing off your brand a bit and giving the aesthetic you are looking for.

It’s important to briefly outline exactly what makes your brand stand out in a simple and easily digestible body section.

Don’t give an essay on the entire history of your brand… just list out your unique selling propositions and why someone may want to choose you.

(Make sure to inject social proof where you can)

Then finally, list out your products and offer further shopping for the customer.

  1. Hero section with discount and branded image

  2. Body section with brand USPs

  3. Bestseller product section

That simple!

Email Example

This is a strong example from my team which checks all the boxes I mentioned before.

Look how clear the discount code is and how BIG the first button is, making it so easy for the customer to keep shopping.
