The Hidden Email List Killer 🔫

The Inbox Newsletter

Hey it’s Max from The Inbox Newsletter.

I’ve been seeing templated emails with the same style in a lot of my free audits I do for ecom brands above $50k/mo.

I wanted to address why this is a bad idea…

The Same Is Boring

Nobody wants to receive the same thing over and over and over again.

There’s always a nice dopamine rush with NEW that isn’t there with the same old content.

If you send the same stuff in the same style over and over again, nobody needs to open your emails to know what’s in them.

If you only send text-heavy emails there’s no novelty with your content and subscribers will churn faster as they get bored of your style.

Same goes for graphic emails.

If all you do is send super colorful graphics with the same template, people will burn out.

After working on some accounts more than 2 years, I’ve learned that The key to long term list engagement is variability.

Make it a game for your subscribers.

When they see your email notification they ask themself “ooo what’s it going to be this time?”

Different Email Styles

There are a few different email styles you can use. You should have one as your primary style which is used for 75% of your sends, while the others make up the remaining 25%.

Graphic Heavy: Heavy designed emails with many pictures and design features. (Example)

Graphic Minimal: Emails that are designed with pictures but with minimal elements and a bit more copy. (Example)

Branded Text Based: Text based emails that have branded features such as your logo at the top and footer at the bottom. (Example)

Plain Text Based: Text Based emails that show up natively in your email platform. Very simple with no color and design elements. (Example)

Humans are simple creatures. They crave new.

Mix up your email styles with email content and you’ll get continued engagement over time.

Email Inspiration Of The Day

Notes:
Great graphic heavy email example kept nice and simple.

The copy is great… focused less on the human and more on the cat and treating THEM.

Nothing crazy about this email, just executes the basics.

Testimonial Section #19

I thought this testimonial section would fit in the email inspiration for today. Adding some slants to your testimonials make them a bit more fun and engaging!
