I want to make sure you make the absolute most out of the season…
So I’m going to rapid fire answer some of the frequently asked questions I get around the BFCM season…
How Should My Black Friday Emails Look?
Don’t overthink it…
You don’t need to do anything special. In fact, you should try to keep things as minimal and simple as possible.
The goal of our emails is to get the click onto the site which will give the info needed to make a purchase.
Keep your emails simple and to the point.
If you want to take them up a notch design-wise, you can use a darker theme to make it branded for BFCM.
Here’s an example of a great, simple BFCM email:

How Many Emails Should I Send?
Depends on your brand size and goals.
Everybody no matter the brand size should be sending at least 1 email every day from Early Access, through Black Friday and until the end of Cyber Monday.
Ideally 2 emails a day is what we want.
No, you won’t bother your customers too much. They’re getting hit with a crazy amount from other brands… if you aren’t sending multiple your emails will get buried.
Shoot for 2 a day.
When Should I Start Sending Emails?
I like to start with an Early Access offer that begins on Monday the week of BFCM.
The offer is a bit lower than the BF offer, but you focus your messaging on limited stock, priority shipping, etc.
Then run that through the following Tuesday or Wednesday after Cyber Monday.
Should I Use Text Based Emails?
YES!
Text-based emails are going to be your best friend.
They stand out in the graphic-heavy inbox, they seem personaly for the customer, and they convert like crazy.
The best part… they take no time to create!
What Do I Do With My Flows During BFCM?
Well, for our clients we create custom BFCM flows with the offer and tighter time frames.
If you’re strapped on time, I would just add a text box or a bar under the logo in each flow email that says “Black Friday Live XX% OFF: Shop Now »”
Then you can just keep your current flows live.
If you can update flows… make them branded to BFCM, very urgency focused, break down the offer in each email, and change the time frames to be 6 hours between emails!
